Privacy Policy

Acumen Renovations is a residential general contractor owned and operated by Joshua Harden, serving the Kansas City metro. This policy explains what information we collect through this website, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to www.acumenrenovations.com and every page and tool on it, including our instant quote calculators, contact form, scheduling tools, and newsletter.

This policy is part of our Terms of Service. Our address and phone number are in the “Your choices & contact” section below.

When you request a quote, contact us, or join our newsletter, we collect the details you provide:

• Contact details — your first and last name, email address, phone number, and street address, city, state, and ZIP code.
• Project details — the service you want and everything you configure in the quote calculator: dimensions and measurements, materials and options, features of your home a calculator asks about (for example number of stories, year-built range, or whether you have an HOA), and your project timeline and budget range.
• Property location — if you use our map-based measurement tool, the location of your property and the outline you draw on the map.
• Scheduling preferences — the dates and times you propose for a site visit.
• Messages — anything you write to us in the contact form.

We use this information to prepare your estimate, respond to your inquiry, schedule site visits, and send the communications you asked for.

Our address lookup and satellite measurement tool are powered by Mapbox. When you type an address, the text you enter is sent to Mapbox to return address suggestions and map coordinates, and when you use the measurement tool, the map area you view is requested from Mapbox so it can show you satellite imagery of your property. Mapbox receives your browser’s IP address as part of those requests. We do not send Mapbox your name or contact details. Mapbox’s handling of this data is described in its own privacy policy.

We use cookies and browser storage in two ways:

• To keep the site working. Your browser’s local storage remembers your cookie choice, your progress through a quote (your selections and the estimate we calculated), and the contact details you entered so you don’t have to retype them. This storage stays on your device; nothing in it is set by a third party.
• To measure how the site is used — only with your consent. If you choose Accept on our cookie banner, we load Google Analytics, which sets cookies and collects information about the pages you visit and how you got here so we can improve the site. If you choose Decline, Google Analytics is never loaded and no analytics cookies are set.

You can change or clear your choice at any time by clearing this site’s data in your browser, and most browsers also let you block cookies entirely.

• Understanding site usage to improve our tools and content

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.

When you submit a quote request, we use your email address to send you messages about that request:

• a confirmation that we received your request, with a summary of your project and estimated total;
• your formal quote, with a private link to view the quote PDF (the link expires 30 days after the quote is created);
• notice when a quote is marked accepted or declined; and
• confirmation of any site visit we schedule with you.

These are service messages tied to something you asked us for, so they don’t have an unsubscribe link; if you no longer want to hear about a request, contact us and we’ll close it.

Our newsletter is separate. We send it only if you sign up and confirm your email address, and every newsletter includes an unsubscribe link that takes effect immediately.

Automated emails come from noreply@acumenrenovations.com, which is not monitored — use the contact details below to reach us.

We rely on a small number of service providers to run this site. They process your information only on our behalf, only as needed to provide their service, and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes:

• Heroku (Salesforce) — hosts our application and the database where quote and contact records are stored.
• Vercel — hosts the website itself.
• Resend — delivers the emails described above.
• Cloudflare — stores the PDF copies of your quotes.
• Mapbox — address lookup and satellite imagery, as described under “Map and address tools.”
• Google— analytics, only if you accept our cookie banner, as described under “Cookies & similar technologies.”

We keep quote and contact records for as long as we need them to serve you and to meet our legal and warranty obligations. In practice:

• The private link to your quote PDF expires 30 days after the quote is created. The quote itself stays in our records so we can pick the conversation back up if you return.
• If you sign a proposal with us, we keep that proposal and its related records for the life of the warranty and as long as the law requires, because it is our contract with you.
• Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe.

You can ask us to delete your information at any time using the contact details below. We will delete or anonymize everything we hold about you, except for records we are legally required to keep, such as a signed proposal.

This site is for adults arranging work on their property. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, contact us and we will delete it.

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the effective date above. Continued use of the site after a change means the updated policy applies.
